The Tekscan Pressure Mapping System was used to measure
the differences in peak heel and forepart pressure between
the different combinations. Three subjects walked on the
treadmill at 3.3 m.p.h. in a conditioned laboratory.
Of the five insocks with largest contact area, three include
a layer or combination of BonFoam. This suggests that these
materials conform to the shape of the foot, increasing the
contact area.
Bontex has concluded that a conforming layer of foam does
achieve its objective giving greater contact area, and thus
reduces the peak pressure points and at the same time gives
individual fit without the added expense of customized inserts.
BONTEX has developed different composite packages
creating several comfort systems based on the information
from this study. Each BONTEX composite package is designed to provide
maximum comfort and overall performance levels.
